Lately I’ve been writing quite a lot, and although I post most of it on my own personal blog, Escaped Emotions but as this is our portfolio, I thought I would share my two latest pieces on here!
Hush Now
Hush now, hush now,
watch us tip toe
skate and dance
never touching, only skimming.
Hush now, don’t ruin the suspense
with words you’ll have forgotten
by the breaking light of dawn.
Slow now, watch the sunrise,
watch the sunset, the moonrise
the stars sparkle.
Hush now, let us fall
slowly, slowly, slowly
into a heap.
Hush now, let us fall
fall fall fall.
Hush now.

I Will Burn
I’m afraid of the rush
afraid of the hush
afraid I have fallen too quickly
afraid I have thrown my shield away
afraid my mask has been torn in two.
I cannot stop my thoughts
cannot stop the buzzing
cannot stop the wanting
cannot stop the burning
cannot stop the longing.
I’m afraid of the heat
afraid I will burn
afraid I cannot resist
even if it burns.
I cannot stop.
I cannot wait.
I cannot hide.
I want every inch
every laugh
every smile
every wrinkle
every part of
you.
Even if I burn.
